Woman Project
Woman is a series of 4 conceptual artworks made through the installation of intervened daily-basis objects. The serie delves into the issue of empowered women: their origin, their nature and their self-realization process.
The series was exhibited at the V Edition of Woman Art, yearly organized by the Commerce Chamber of Costa Rica, where the artwork "Traje" won the contest because of the clear representation of the entrepreneur women.

"Investment" is an installation that represents in a "commercial" way the promotional display of the launch of three new products: a mirror with lipstick included, some pills and an engagement ring. The three mini-plays, precisely, concisely, and almost literally, are reminders of self-love as we are our greatest assets.

The mirror with lipstick included, from the MEBESO brand, is designed so that women, wherever they go, can open the portable mirror, paint their lips and kiss their own reflection. This product is not simply cosmetic to look good or for the delight of others, but, as an intimate object of self-love for each woman.

The pills, called MECUIDO, are sweets in a medicine bottle that encourage women to take care of themselves every day before taking care of others, since, as a pillar of the family and, therefore, of society, the Women's health and safety are paramount.

Finally, the engagement ring, brand MEAMO with the design of 2 hearts reflecting forming the symbol of eternity, reveals the importance of one's own commitment over commitment to another person.

"Our voice" is an assembly installation of great conceptual cleanliness. This work tells us in a descriptive, almost romantic way, how education was the most powerful weapon to be heard.

The artpiece deals with the past of women in the feminine revolution, in which, through the intellect, women, with the passing of the centuries, were listened to, gradually positioning themselves in society to fight for their dreams and their rights.

The book, open on the word "educate" and cut in the form of tiers towards its top, where it merges with the megaphone as a representation of strike and of raising loudly what they are, what they deserve and what they have to offer.

“La Obra Maestra” is an installation with a platform that acts as a sculpture base, so that the woman who goes up automatically becomes the protagonist of the piece that identifies her as the masterpiece.

The platform is printed with portraits of the outstanding women of Costa Rica.

Express that every successful woman is the stepping stone of another successful woman.

The concept becomes more explicit after entering through the curtain of lights, which represents a portal of bright opportunities.

Upon entering, the viewer looks through the mirror finding herself.

Inside, she meets her most empowered version where there are no impossibles.

By finding herself, she can achieve all her goals, dreams and/or objectives.

"Suit" is an installation made up of a mannequin and a dress intervened that refer to the semantic pair "spirit-body".

The mannequin represents the woman under the dress battling strong social stigmas.

The dress as a representation of superficiality (since in general, it has been an element by which it is discriminated, excluded and marginalized, so that we are judged and many times, we judge ourselves by what we wear).

Ironically, the dress is loaded with messages that reveal the true sublimity of women. The concept of female complexity culminates in the fusion of both works.
